Hi there from the sunshine state! =]

This is mainly a blog about screenshots ive taken of games like Bioshock (my all time favorite), Portal, Dead Space and Skyrim as well as a few others. Plus a little bit of stuff i like, and even some me. Anything not tagged jlbiggs isnt mine, if you would like me to credit you, just send me a quick message and i would be more than happy to.

I feel that sometimes games aren't given enough credit. To me, they can be like works of art. They contain engaging stories like books and beautiful visuals like movies. The music can give you chills just like your favorite band. But my favorite thing about them is the atmosphere they pull you in with and before you know it, you've stayed up till 4 in the morning, eyes all blurry with a controller in your hand.

There's nothing special about me or the screenshots i take. I just like to explore game worlds and snap some screenshots along the way. :) Whether you're taking a picture of a game on a black and white TV with your Indestructible Nokia, or you're taking a screenshot on a beast of a computer, they are both equally as amazing. When taking shots (as well as playing), i love finding all the little details the game designers put in a level. They did all the hard work, im just along for the ride. :)

Bioshock is very very special to me. It came out at a great time in my life, and in my opinion, was an almost perfect game. The atmosphere, the music, the setting, the look, the gameplay. It all came together to form a masterpiece. For christmas one of my best friends got me the pc version and the second i noclipped through the lighthouse and flew through the city down below, i saw Rapture (and every other game afterwards) in a whole new light. I was able to see how they put it together, how they added the tiniest details in to make it a believable world. I could almost feel the time, love and effort they put in to it. I started taking screenshots and posting them on the Bioshock forums and a few years later, they wound up on tumblr. Since that christmas in 2007, ive played through Bioshock more times than i can even count. I know every inch of every level. And i still cant get enough. There are games where i put the controller down after 5 minutes. That Rapture is still this interesting after all this time, is a testament to what the developers created.

Some of my favorite things that may or may not wind up on my tumblr-

Cookies, calvin and hobbes, owls, exploring (everything but mainly woods), piano, computers, drums, dogs, chocolate covered pretzels, nighttime, penguins, cold days, books, adventures, cookies, guitar, Disney, sweaters, riding bikes, retro futuristic things, aquariums, cookies, snow (ive never seen it), space.

One of the most wonderful human beings ive ever met, Audrey, is the reason i have this tumblr. She pointed out to me one day that my pictures were on FYeahBioshock and that led me to make my own page. Thank you Audrey!!

And thank you for taking the time to check out my page!

I think this amazing mural needs some love. To me, details like this separate Bioshock from a lot of other games. Just for one small part of a level, the designers probably spent hours and hours on it.
